6,000 young unemployed people in Scotland get jobs in charities

Kelsie McGregor, 16 from Loanhead, has become the 6,000th young unemployed person to find a job through Community Jobs Scotland.
Kelsie is a Play Work Assistant at LASC Childcare Services, which provides an after school club, nursery, and breakfast and holiday clubs for children in Loanhead, Rosewell and Roslin, managed entirely by parents living in the area.
Run by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, Community Jobs Scotland creates paid jobs for young unemployed people in charities across the country.

The Minister for Youth and Women’s Employment,
Annabelle Ewing visited the centre to mark that the 6000th young person has found work via Community Jobs Scotland, run by Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.

Annabelle Ewing, Minister for Youth and Women’s Employment joined Kelsie McGregor as she played with Isaac Nelson and Kara Morris, both aged 2 in the LASC Childcare Nursery.
